Norwegian PM fined for celebrating her birthday

Covid virus cases increasing all over the world and every country is trying its best to break new covid-19 waves by applying lockdown and by large-scale vaccination programs in the process Norway took many measures to safeguard their people by making many social distancing rules for gathering but Norway prime minister Erna Solberg celebrated 60th Birthday in February and organized a party for their 13 family members despite a government ban on gatherings of more than 10 people.

Norway's police have fined 20,000 kroner (£1,713) to PM after public broadcaster takes this matter into the light.

 In the pandemic time, Leaders are not following rules and thinking their country people should follow the social distancing rules but, some time looks like rules are only made for the public but not for Leaders. The restaurant where the celebration took place was also found to have violated the law but it was not fined.

"Solberg is the country's leader and she has been at the forefront of the restrictions imposed to limit the spread of the virus," said Saeverud

Solberg said “I’d like to say again that I’m sorry for breaking the coronavirus rules,” she told Norway’s TV2 News. “I will accept the fine, and pay it.”

Norway has championed strict rules to curb the spread of the coronavirus, resulting in some of Europe's lowest rates of infection and deaths.
